Ouray & Silverton Half-Day Elopement | Jon & Anna

Jon & Anna’s Ouray & Silverton half-day elopement gave them a beautiful, slow-paced, wedding day that allowed them and their guests to comfortably celebrate this new adventure in an incredible place!

We met up for getting ready as Ashley with A Vow to Artistry was finishing up with hair and makeup. Their girls danced around showing off the special dresses they wore for the day while the final touches to Anna’s hair were made and Jon got dressed. Anna’s mom and sister helped her into her dress and it was time for a first look on the front lawn, where the pair saw each other in their attire for the first time (and their guests looked on from the porch!) We made our way to the trailhead outside of Ouray for the small hike to their ceremony location – views of Mt. Abrams and the surrounding mountain peaks acting as their backdrop. Jon and Anna stood with their girls as Anna’s sister led their ceremony, exchanging vows and rings as their guests and the mountains stood in witness.

Following the ceremony we took photos with their loved ones, those photos they’ll look back on each year on the loved one’s birthday or when flipping through their wedding album, and we had the freedom to decide to head back to their vacation rental to give everyone a few moments to relax, do touchups, and unwind before dinner reservations downtown at Taste Ouray. Not only was dinner delicious and the toasts lovely, but Anna’s mom surprised them with a wedding cake with the most perfect topper for these two gym lovers.

After dinner, the three of us loaded up to head south to the Silverton area, where we were aiming to explore and get photos with some alpine lakes as the sun set and alpenglow showed off. And it really did treat us to a wonderful golden hour! We even saw two new moose on the side of the highway (I need to add that to my count!) and had some great laughs as we spent our time exploring the area.
