Abby and Craig planned a mountain biking trip from their home in Yakima, Washington to the mountains of Colorado. Of course a destination on the list was Fruita! They figured while they were here in a state that allows self-solemnization they would also tie the knot. They wanted incredible views, sunrise to beat the heat, and their bikes included in photos. I think we definitely accomplished that with their mountain biking elopement!

We started the morning in the first bit of light by hiking a trail out to some of my favorite overlooks. Abby had the most beautiful bouquet that matched the colors of the desert brilliantly. After they exchanged private vows on the edge of the canyon below, we explored a few of the best overlooks for photos before heading up to an area we could get out their mountain bikes. They brought “Just Married” license plates for their bikes, with Washington and Montana designs to match where they are both originally from. We wrapped up as we began to feel the sun’s heat (this heat wave is no joke!) and they went on to the rest of their mountain biking trip. Take a peek at some of my favorites from our morning together for their mountain biking elopement:
