I'm based in Grand Junction, CO and capture the story & scenery of your favorite day. Serving Crested Butte, Ouray, Moab, Aspen and beyond!

Anjalie and David’s Black Canyon Inn wedding in Estes Park, Colorado had vibrant colors and amazing mountain views for their multi-day wedding celebration.  The night before the wedding, friends and family gathered for the Mehndi party. Laughter filled the air as friends and family came together to dance, celebrate, and savor the delectable cuisine. And, to top it all off, a crepe food truck was on site, delighting everyone with some seriously amazing creations. I knew then that this celebration was not just about the couple; it was about the coming together of two families, cultures, and traditions. It was so nice to witness both parts of their weekend!

The next day, I met the couple at the Black Canyon Inn for getting ready and a first look with the mountain backdrop. The ceremony was held in the venue – which is a beautiful space that is also so wonderful to have in case of the typical afternoon showers Colorado gets in the summer. Luckily we didn’t need the space for rain, as it was perfect weather all day!

One of the most remarkable aspects of this wedding was the unity ceremony. In this glass ceremony, both families poured grains of glass into an empty vase, symbolizing the marriage not only of the couple but also the union of their families. It was a powerful testament to the depth of their love and the strength of their commitment. The idea that this vase, filled with combined glass, would soon be transformed into a unique piece of art was both poetic and awe-inspiring. The two planned to take the vase of mixed glass to a glass blower in Estes Park to create a unique piece of glass that literally combines the two colors of glass to create a totally new piece.

I loved the symbolism of that ceremony. As cocktail hour gathered their loved ones on the patio, the already wonderful weather cooled to the most amazing evening setting for the party that was about to begin. The couple would share a choreographed dance their friends designed for them as their first dance, and Anjalie and her dad shared a fun surprise dance medley for their parent dance! The evening wound down with dancing as their DJ brought the party, and I was sad to leave such a fun celebration. Take a peek at some of my favorites from their Black Canyon Inn wedding in Estes Park:
