For my final marriage celebration of the year, I had the chance to document Craig and Jessica’s elopement on the Colorado National Monument, and what a beautiful time it was! We beat out the snow that was expected by a day, and had the most beautiful weather.
Jessica and Craig have been coming through Colorado, and Grand Junction in particular, for some time now. The hot springs in Glenwood are a favorite spot for the two of them. Coming from Salt Lake City, they knew Colorado was a top contender for their elopement. They both love to hike, explore and road trip, so combining these things into their marriage celebration was the perfect plan.
The two of them met at work, at a technology company. Craig had been there almost a year longer than Jessica and was assigned to train her on a specific piece of software. She recalls, “We spent a lot of hours working our way through buggy software and making jokes to add levity. He has such a sweet sense of humor.”
Learning together is their love language, which is almost certainly why they enjoy exploring new places together! We chose the Monument when I learned about their love of the red sands of Moab and saw the most AMAZING dress Jessica planned on wearing! Though they’d come through town fairly often, neither of them had strayed off the main path enough to discover the monument, but once we were there they were hooked.
The two exchanged their vows privately on a cliff side of the Colorado National Monument, and we spent the rest of our time there taking portraits with the two of them and some with their dear pup, Pepper! Take a peek at some of my favorite moments from their Elopement on the Colorado National Monument:
