I met up with David and Kristen as the sun was beginning to set for their engagement session at the Colorado National Monument. It boggles my mind every year that these winter sessions start so early! With the time change, suddenly we’re meeting up at 3:30 instead of closer to 5 and it just feels so bizarre. But the light was changing to that perfect golden glow, and we set out down the trail!
Kristen was a real trooper basically hiking the whole session in her wedges – talk about super powers. David was so sweet as he made sure she was okay and helped her down any hills I asked them to maneuver! We talked about how their wedding planning was coming along – my secret favorite part of engagement sessions. I love to hear how the plans are coming together and what “to-dos” you’ve been checking off!
We finished their engagement session at an incredible overlook of one of my favorite hiking trails as the canyon below was aglow with sunset light. It was magical. I cannot wait to capture their celebration next June!! For now, though, take a peek at some of my favorites from their engagement session at the Colorado National Monument:
