If you love the Moab vibes but love privacy and self-solemnization even more, Gateway Colorado is the spot for you! This hidden gem is off-the-beaten-path enough that it’s rare to see many other people while you’re there, but the views rival Moab’s desert red-rock! Plus, no officiant or witnesses are required here in Colorado. Katrina and Frank’s elopement near Gateway combined some traditional aspects of weddings like walking down the aisle, an officiant, and a hand-fasting ceremony, along with the benefits of eloping like privacy, flexibility, and less stress.
Katrina arrived to the cute little A-frame cabin they rented near Thimble Rock Point from getting her hair done in Grand Junction (the nearest real town) to do a few touch-ups before the ceremony began. They had set up the perfect spot right outside the cabin with mountain views in the distance. Kathi with Wine Country Ceremonies oversaw their vows and hand-fasting in a beautiful and intimate ceremony before we took off into Gateway for photos with the red rock towers. The golden light of the evening sun, and the relief from the day’s heat, were a welcome ending to their beautiful elopement near Gateway. Take a peek at my favorites from the evening:
