Micro weddings are all the rage – and it’s easy to see why. The freedom and flexibility (and savings!) of a smaller celebration means you have less to stress about (and pay for!) Being a relatively new concept in the wedding industry, though, means that planning a micro wedding can leave you wondering how the heck to start, where to look, and what to plan. For starters, I am here to help you find micro wedding venues in Ouray (the Switzerland of America!) where a small group can gather for your micro wedding celebration.
10 Micro Wedding Venues in Ouray
Clipper Inn
This Bed & Breakfast lies just off the main drag in the heart of Ouray, a perfect location for walking to your favorite shops and restaurants. Its b&b charm offers rest and relaxation from your mountain adventures (and the cutest little room for a super small gathering in inclement weather.) Use it for a small dinner after a mountain ceremony or as the full shebang – either way you’ll have a quaint space in which to celebrate! Click here to see a micro wedding I photographed here.
Wright Opera House
The Wright Opera House stands on the main street in Ouray, its historic building one of many well-preserved in the cozy little town! As they mention on their website, “Built in 1888 by Edward Wright, the opera house has undergone recent restoration and renovation that honors its history while ensuring that you receive modern venue accommodations. The Wright Opera House offers ADA accessibility, gorgeous views of the Amphitheater, and tables and chairs included with every rental.” Bringing history and modern amenities together, plus a stellar location, makes this a great spot for an intimate micro wedding day.

The Western Hotel
The Western Hotel is another amazing historic building in Ouray. It stands located just off the main street in town, and while it was built in 1891, the space was meticulously restored from 2020 to 2023. Now they are ready to share the beautiful new spaces with the public! If you’re looking for that old mining town charm of Ouray mixed with modern updates, this is the perfect venue for your micro wedding.

Beaumont Hotel
By now, you’re seeing a theme. The best buildings in town are historic, okay?! The Beaumont was renovated some years back now, and was recently bought and updated even a little further by adding on a coffee shop and making more use of the lovely bar on the main floor of the hotel. You can rent the hotel for your micro wedding and get the quintessential “Titanic” pic on the stairs and dance the night away in the courtyard under the stars. They also have a nice ballroom in case of inclement weather.
The Imogene
The Imogene is a boutique hotel on the main drag in town, and offers a rooftop bar with stunning 360 degree views! One downside – there is no elevator, and there are a lot of stairs. So be aware of that before booking! This is one of the smaller micro wedding venues in Ouray as well, so if you’re looking for ultimate intimacy you might enjoy this spot!
The Venue at CSB
The Venue at CSB sits on the rooftop above the Citizens State Bank in the heart of Ouray. With panoramic views of the mountains surrounding, you also get ADA accessibility and a little more space than the Imogene. Unlike the Imogene, though, you don’t have any access to lodging at this micro wedding venue. Did I mention the views, though?!

Red Mountain Alpine Lodge
If you’re looking for a micro wedding venue in Ouray that’s a little more IN the mountains, then Red Mountain Alpine Lodge is a great option for you! Driving out of town onto Highway 550 (known locally as Red Mountain Pass or Million Dollar Highway) you’ll find this mountain lodge secluded and waiting for your micro wedding celebration. Get amongst it – and have room for some guests to stay on site!

Fellin Park
If you’re looking for a very simple micro wedding venue in Ouray, the town park, Fellin Park, offers a lovely gazebo for renting out at a very low cost. You could host your ceremony here and then escape into the mountains for photos while your guests take a dip in the hot springs pool!

Mt. Abrams Overlook
This locals’ favorite is less of a venue and more of a public lands area that has the capacity for hosting micro weddings without damaging the local ecosystem. It’s not a privately reserved space and is first-come-first-served, but on a weekday early or later in the day you can likely find the space unused and gather your small micro wedding at this space!
Gold Mountain Ranch
One of the newer and more luxurious micro wedding venues in Ouray is Gold Mountain Ranch, which sits above the town and looking down on the valley below. See Ouray from an angle you probably never have before! The Wilmont on site offers comfortable lodging for up to 18, so you could in theory all stay on site. Get 360 degree views and an elegant western interior that is as cozy as it is welcoming.
