Hailey and Mich’s River Bend Ranch wedding in Durango was a beautiful start to the holiday weekend. We were blessed with the best weather and bluebird skies. The two got ready at a VRBO near the venue with their close friends helping get everything ready for the big day as I captured the little details the two brides had put together. Once the brides were dressed and ready for the day, we set Mich up on the porch for first look. She placed her Pendleton on the railing, wringing her hands as the nerves of the moment caught up to her. The anticipation of seeing your significant other for the first time all dressed up on your wedding day is an inevitable feeling, and one that’s not easy to shake. Hailey joined her on the porch, their friends looking on from the windows, as they finally saw the other and shared a long embrace (the friends now cheering them on). Once the big emotions passed and we were ready for the day, we set off to River Bend Ranch.
The venue itself was equally stunning! The lake with the red rock mountains on the horizon made an incredible backdrop for the day – and don’t even get me started on the willow trees! Mich brought her Pendleton, turquoise jewelry, and other Navajo traditions to her attire, and she and Hailey chose gem tones and geometric shapes to adorn the space.
