Steff said it better than I ever could:

“I would like you to know that I just booked a wedding, and they said the beautiful pics on the website is what made them decide we were the only ones for them.”

That’s the whole point.

Hillbilly Catering has been one of my favorite ongoing partnerships, and Steff and Miles are exactly the kind of business owners who get it — they knew they needed more than one session to tell the full story of what they do. So that’s what we built, one session at a time.

We started with headshots. Before anyone decides whether to hire a caterer, they want to know who they’re hiring. A face, a personality, a sense of whether these are the people they want behind the scenes on one of the biggest days of their life. Getting that foundation right matters.

From there, we tackled the business itself — a branding session showcasing the different ways Hillbilly Catering actually shows up for an event. Because the range is real: intimate setups, larger spreads, the kind of flexibility that makes them a fit for everything from a backyard gathering to a full wedding reception. Potential clients aren’t left guessing what to expect. They can see it.

Then came something a little different: a non-profit gala they catered. Real event, real food, real process — captured in the moment. Those images have a different energy than a styled shoot. They show Hillbilly Catering in action, doing exactly what they do, at exactly the level they do it.

Three sessions. A complete library. And a wedding booking from a couple who decided, based on the photos alone, that Steff and Miles were the only ones for them.

That’s what consistent, intentional branding photography does for a business. It’s also exactly what I had in mind when I created The Summit Society — a branding photography membership for Western Slope small business owners ready to stop starting from scratch every time they need content.
