Jennifer and Jake knew they wanted their wedding at Colorado Wine Country Inn to be relaxed, fun, and full of wildflowers. Even with the threat of rain, I’d say we accomplished just that! We beat the storms for photos and the rain mostly held until we were safely inside for the reception.
I met up with Jennifer in the hotel room to capture her getting ready, where I got to meet her mom and see the details that would frame the day, from family heirlooms to the aforementioned wildflowers in her stunning bouquet. It can be tricky to find a good spot to photograph the dress when it’s too close to rainy outside to take it out of the room, but I love how this little nook worked out!
Jennifer and Jake shared their first look among the vines, which got me thinking about the biggest reason I encourage couples to consider one: flexibility. Had we had to wait until after their ceremony to get any photos done, we would have certainly been rained out. Being able to sneak everything in before the rain came was huge to making sure they got the photos they wanted! In the summer in Colorado the rain typically comes in the afternoon/evening, which leads to this scenario happening often. Something to consider if you’re on the planning journey and still on the fence!
The team at Wine Country worked to move the guests beneath the pergola, which of course kept the rain off until just after the ceremony haha! Jenn and Jake shared their first dance upon being announced into the reception, which is something I first saw done years ago back in Iowa, but am seeing more and more and just loving. They and their guests danced the night away and made a real party of the reception! Take a peek at some of my favorites from their wedding at Colorado Wine Country Inn:
