The sound of rain echoed through the barn as it bounced off the roof overhead. As Katie said on Instagram, “Rain, snow or sun – we will be dancing in it and living our best life together!” That is exactly the best mentality to go into your wedding day; at the end of the day you will be married and have the time of your life even with inclement weather! Their rainy wedding at Vista View Events was still the perfect day. It helps, to be honest, to have a great team of professionals who do this every weekend and are able to flex the plans behind the scenes to make the day flow as though it was meant to rain!
As is often the case in Colorado, we were able to find pockets of clear weather for photos. Katie and Rachel shared their first look down by the water of Harvey’s Gap reservoir without any rain, excited to finally unite to begin their wedding day together. A rainy wedding is just another adventure they share; from a hot air balloon first date to the scavenger hunt proposal these two have been and will be side-by-side for many adventures to come!
Katie’s pop officiated their event – the sign welcoming their guests reading: “Pick a seat not a side, either way it’s for a bride!” There were many odes to the LGBTQ+ community for their wedding day. A friend of theirs made two decorative pies declaring “Love Wins” in both a rainbow and their wedding colors. Some guests even showed up with rainbow umbrellas – the perfect combination for photos from their rainy wedding at Vista View Events! The aspen bark cake and mountain table numbers brought everything together for their Colorado venue, and the party was on. That is, it was brought on by a flash mob style dance to Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” as bubble machines showered the dance floor in bubbles! The guests showed up ready to party and the dancefloor was a celebration of love that could not be stopped.
