If patience is a virtue, then Kim and Bart are the most virtuous couple I know. Having originally met in fifth grade at Kyffin Elementary in Golden, their first date was high school homecoming their senior year. It wasn’t for another 30 years, though, that they reconnected at a golf tournament, both back on the market, and started their journey toward this day: their wedding at Redlands Community Center.
They chose the Redlands Community Center for its beautiful and historic building, and the history of it being the area’s first 9-hole golf course and country club – a nod to the golf tournament that reconnected them. Their first look and ceremony were out on the lawn of the property, a beautifully shaded reprieve from the heat wave we are having. They paired the Labor Day Weekend end-of-summer with the approaching autumn well with greenery and touches of sunflowers and fall florals.
Their dinner was inside the historic building on site, where they surprised Bart’s brother with cupcakes to celebrate his birthday that day and honor all September birthdays with singing Happy Birthday. Kim and Bart ended the evening with toasts, a cake cutting (that got a little messy!) and some dancing before it was time for me to leave them to the party without the cameras. Take a peek at some of my favorites from their wedding at Redlands Community Center:
