Hitch (/hiCH/): 1. to fasten or tether with a rope. 2. get hitched with – take in marriage.
Riding their beloved horses up to the ceremony site at Orchard River View, complete with a hitching post at the head of the aisle for those horses, Sadie and Jason were hitched last Saturday. The Colorado river roared in the background as their friend Andy officiated the event, the horses chomping away at the grass at their feet (and thankfully not the beautiful flowers adorning the hitching post!) Andy spoke of the journey they’d taken to get to this moment, from the Garfield County Fair in 2016 where they met after a concert. The two had some health hiccups in wedding planning that almost postponed the process, but they persevered knowing that now was the right time. Sadie told me, “We decided that getting married now is the most important thing to us, even if the wedding wasn’t absolutely perfect.” That was one part of what made me know they were so perfect together. They care so deeply about one another and helping each other through all parts of life – the good times and bad!
When I asked them to tell me about what they love most about one another, they both had similar answers. It’s clear that they build each other up and encourage them to be the best versions of themselves they can be. “Jason is extremely patient. He has this way of making me calm and comfortable in my most nervous anxiety filled moments. Everything about him is just home.”
Sadie did an incredible job designing a classic, rustic reception in the barn at Orchard River View. The cake made by Afternoon Delight Bakery was an intricate perfect touch too! Every little detail in the room made her vision come to life in the most magical way. Sadie and Jason, thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me to be part of your friends and family for the day. It was truly a beautiful event!
