I'm based in Grand Junction, CO and capture the story & scenery of your favorite day. Serving Crested Butte, Ouray, Moab, Aspen and beyond!

Rachel and Andrew’s summer wedding at Top of the Pines highlighted everything that is beautiful about the Ridgway area and the San Juan mountains.

When I asked the pair what drew them to Top of the Pines as their wedding venue, they said, “The San Juans holds a special place in our hearts. Andrew grew up visiting the area and it’s the first place we went on vacation together. We can share some of the things we love with our loved ones here, including the beautiful mountain views and hiking!”

I first met up with Rachel at her parents’ vacation rental in Ridgway for getting ready photos. It was a fun time to meet a lot of her family and feel the excitement for the day building up. We headed up to the venue early for Rachel and Andrew to share a first look together and then an impromptu first look with their pups, who were absolutely the cutest! Their dogs mean so much to them, and that was such a fun spontaneous moment to capture.

The day was focused on an amazing experience and highlighting the natural beauty of the area, something I think Top of the Pines really excels at. Imagine saying your vows with Mt. Sneffels and its neighboring mountain peaks in the background. The way the mountain range changes as the sun moves throughout the day is absolutely mesmerizing.

The decorations the couple did choose to incorporate were whimsical and classic, and the evening unfolded with dancing and guests marveling at the beauty around them. Take a peek at some of my favorite moments from Rachel and Andrew’s summer wedding at Top of the Pines:
