Sam and Tori’s backyard wedding in the Redlands has been two years in the making. One pandemic and a doctorate degree later and the two finally were able to gather with their friends and family to celebrate their marriage in Sam’s parents’ backyard. After getting ready on property, we made our way up to the Monument for their first look. The two trusted me to select a location not too far from the home, and when we arrived they were almost as thrilled with the backdrop as they were to finally see each other on the big day! I loved that such a special moment came together so perfectly.
Chelsea, their wedding planner, had entirely created the design for the day from Tori’s ideas, and the two hadn’t seen any final design before the big day. As we came back from the first look, we set up a reveal for the two of them to walk through the space and take in every detail she had put together. The dusty pink roses went perfectly with the light blue color of the day. The design was elegant and classic with a modern twist, and was perfectly them. Tori’s wildest dreams really came to life! A chandelier walkway, the most beautiful flowers, and leafy greenery draped everywhere made an unbelievably stunning setting for the night.
Before the ceremony, Tori and her mom pinned in a few additional accoutrements to her bouquet: a flower from her mom’s wedding bouquet, and her “something blue” pinned on as well. Sam’s grandmother gave Tori a family heirloom in the form of an ornate cross necklace to adorn the bouquet as well. Tori wore a necklace from her family as well as another “something blue” in a sapphire ring. They were surrounded by loved ones in person and in spirit that day.
Every moment of the day was absolutely worth the wait. Thank you, Sam and Tori, for inviting me along on a crazy and beautiful journey. Take a peek of some of my favorite moments from their backyard wedding in the Redlands:
