Silverton is one of my favorite places in Colorado, and I'm so lucky to work here all throughout the summer! The beautiful mountain passes just outside of town, the adorable shops and restaurants down Greene St., and the most quintessential "Rocky Mountain" views you're dreaming of make Silverton a perfect place to elope in Colorado. Mountain vistas, beautiful aspens, off road adventures, mining history, bright blue alpine lakes, and wildflowers galore will become the most stunning backdrop that I live for as a Silverton elopement photographer!

TOP Silverton elopement locations
Alpine Lakes
With all the off-road (and on-road!) mountain views to explore, you'll also find a number of gulches and basins that have amazing alpine lakes for your elopement ceremony (and you can even paddleboard/canoe some of them!) Note that not all of these lakes are accessible without a high clearance 4WD vehicle.
Silverton-Durango Train
This historic narrow gauge train runs from Durango to Silverton, and you can elope with it! Whether you get married on the train ride, use it as transportation to a backcountry A-Frame cabin, or for the fun of it, this is a unique and epic way to spend your wedding day in Silverton!
Wildflower Meadows
The Silverton area comes alive with wildflowers like much of the Colorado mountains in the summer. Catch the meadows around July for the best colors, and be sure to practice Leave No Trace principles to keep these meadows healthy and protected for decades to come. No tromping or picking around here!
Kendall Mountain
Kendall Mountain Recreational area is a large log-built lodge that runs a small chairlift for winter, and a beautiful and large meadow for wedding celebrations and such in the summer. The views are amazing and the space you get is unmatched!
Eureka Lodge
This backcountry lodge is an elevated and beautiful Mountain Lodge vibe for your wedding. Give your guests a true Colorado experience that they'll remember forever at Eureka Lodge - named for the now-abandoned nearby mining town in a remote area near Silverton. History, beauty, privacy and more is what you'll find here!
The Wyman Hotel
One of Silverton's historic hotels downtown, The Wyman is a beautiful and ornate space with a ton of history oozing out of every brick and wood plank. This intimate space is perfect for a micro wedding or elopement with a few guests!
Mountain Passes
Any direction you drive out of Silverton you will find some of the most ruggedly beautiful "Rocky Mountain" views you've ever seen. While many of these mountain passes require 4WD and/or high clearance vehicles, not all of them are as inaccessible. You can get epic mountain views with as much accessibility as we need.
Campgrounds
The Silverton area hosts a number of wonderful campgrounds that are just as scenic as they are cozy. Enjoy a micro wedding or elopement while camping in one of the prettiest places in the state!
Ghost Towns
With all the history of the Silverton area, from Wild West vibes to the historic mining towns that built this valley, it's no surprise that you can find a fair few ghost towns to explore on your elopement day.
