Emily & Alec | Wedding at Vista View Events - Amanda Matilda Photography

Emily and Alec’s wedding at Vista View Events was a long time in the making. Even before they had to postpone for the pandemic this spring, the two have been together for six years! It was definitely a long-anticipated celebration. Alec and Emily met her first year at CMU. After spending a long time talking that first day they met, they quickly formed a strong friendship that built an incredible foundation for their relationship!

Emily told me about the proposal: “After I graduated from college in December Alec took me to Cabo San Lucas for my graduation present. On the last night there we left the resort to have dinner at a lovely restaurant overlooking the ocean with a wonderful sunset view. We just finished our appetizers and were enjoying the view when I noticed Alec becoming fidgety and taking a few drinks. That’s when he went over and asked a woman next to us to take our picture that’s when he went down on his knee!”

They decorated Vista View Event’s white barn with greenery and pops of dusty blue, a beautiful combination for the venue’s space. Instead of a first look, they exchanged letters to each other during their getting ready moments, which was such a sweet moment of connection before the ceremony! Emily and Alec exchanged vows on the deck overlooking Harvey Gap reservoir, and celebrated all night under the stars on the deck as well before the night wound down with a glow stick exit. It was the perfect day after such anticipation!
