Julie and Derek’s wedding at Two Rivers Winery was highlighted by timeless elegance and touches of modern decor. One of the family toasts that evening talked about how the two had known each other since they were younger and working at a grocery store. They connected in college, but with Julie juggling single parenting and school they never got serious, but they never lost touch! Years later they met for dinner and drinks and the sparks caught fire. “We were finally in the perfect place to give our love a chance. And honestly, being with Derek has always felt like home,” Julie told me.
I met up with Julie as the girls were wrapping up getting ready. It’s always so fun playing with the simple beauty of the chateau’s rooms for this part of the day! After she got in her dress and stunning Manolos we headed to spot for their first look. The goal was a moment away from everything, for them to see each other for the first time, with the monument highlighted in the background, and I think we sure accomplished that! After the first look we made our way back to the winery to finish wedding party photos before the two needed to be tucked away from the arriving guests.
Julie had gotten a simply beautiful mantle for the backdrop of their ceremony, which paired so beautifully with the elegant greenery draped on top. They also decorated the lawn with a “Sip and be Seated” display for their guests to grab a glass of wine before taking a seat. It looked so incredible! They continued the elegant greenery into the reception space too, with the coolest light-up sign adorning the wall of boxwoods behind the head table. I love a statement wall!
