I’ve known Becca through the wedding industry for a few years now, and was so stoked and honored to help her document the big day! I met up with her and Matt for their elopement in Grand Junction last weekend, a day that certainly felt like it might never come. Their plans had a couple of different designs over the year, as the pandemic rocked everyone’s plans, and Becca accepted a dream job out East this fall. But the day did come, and while it wasn’t exactly Plan A or even Plan B, it was still an incredible day full of love, seeking connection where they could, and some seriously beautiful views!
After exchanging vows on a cliffside (but not TOO close to the cliffside…) the pair shared their first dance as a married couple, as the sun fell toward the horizon behind them. They also shared a cupcake and glass of bubbly before we made our way down to the floor of the Monument for some photos in the last light. One of Becca’s friends orchestrated a surprise for the two of them after our time together, and I was responsible for the excuse to get them to drive by. Since gatherings are currently not allowed given the area’s mandates, she had arranged a few of their close friends to stand on the roadside with signs of congratulations for the newlyweds! We stopped for a quick photo with the signs (and kept a distance, don’t worry!) because how could we miss that kind of photo op? It was a wonderful surprise to end the night, and I hope it helped them feel connected to their loved ones on such a special day!
Matt and Becca, thank you from the bottom of my heart for including me in your wedding day. Here a few peeks at my favorite moments from their elopement in Grand Junction:
