How are we already at the end of 2016? I know I’m not the only one who barely felt the year fly by. This year was our first full year here in Grand Junction, and Eric and I have been so lucky and loved every bit of it. Don’t get me wrong, there were loads of challenges and trials. We lost jobs. We had flat tires (on the way to our own wedding reception!) I found myself in the ER the night before a proposal shoot, finding out I needed my gallbladder removed just a week before I had 5 weddings in a row (two of which were out of state!) Scheduling surgery around the height of wedding season. Totaling our car right before the holidays… It was a lot to handle! But we had so many amazing adventures, met dozens of helpful, wonderful people who held us up through the difficulties, saw breath-taking sights and experienced life-changing moments.
In my business, I knew this would be a challenging year. Moving states away from your business foundation is hard and scary! I went into the move planning for little to no business most of this year. Boy was I wrong! Grand Junction and the wider western slope have embraced me with open arms and I am so grateful to everyone who has given me a chance this year. It’s humbling to have been just as busy my first year here as I was the year before in my hometown! I truly feel at home here on the western slope – and it is the many amazing people I’ve gotten to know on the journey who have made that possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
It has been so hard picking which images to feature in this post. I’ve had to cut back so much – it’s hard to cull when every image pulls at your heartstrings! But here is a look back at our year:
