While David and Kristen were always planning on a more intimate wedding day, their vision and plans came in many iterations. The pandemic through a real wrench many couples’ plans, but these two are so flexible and go-with-the-flow through every moment! I know it wasn’t all smooth sailing, but their focus was on getting married and finally being united, and that’s what matters most when planning a wedding. Ultimately, they found the cutest rental house for their VRBO elopement.
As if a global pandemic wasn’t enough to throw hiccups in their plans, I also broke my leg just days before David and Kristen’s big day. I feel so fortunate to have created enough great relationships with other photographers in the area that I had a great backup associate to capture every moment!
Kristen really pulled together an incredible elopement day – you would have never known it wasn’t the first plan! With a stunning cake from Sweet Kiwi and gorgeous flowers from Country Elegance, every detail paired beautifully with the southwest style of the VRBO. A few of their family and friends were able to be present as the two said “I do!” and others were witnesses by Zoom – quickly becoming the tradition of 2020 weddings!
Following portrait time, Kristen and David shared their first dance as husband and wife, and then the parent dances. Before the evening wound down, they cut the cake and only got a little bit all over each other’s faces ha! It was such a beautiful afternoon for two wonderful people. Congratulations you two!
