Eve & Jeremy planned their Green River Overlook elopement in Moab to be the beginning part of a long overlanding adventure around the area. They had dreamt of spending their evening overlooking the miles and miles of canyons stretching beneath them to the horizon, so we planned their locations accordingly.
As is typical in the spring in Moab, the weather was threatening wind and rain, but when we met up at Dead Horse State Park for portraits we were blessed with a break in the weather. The wind was still a little present, but I love how much that helped Eve’s veil-style cape blow for the photos! We explored my favorite parts of the park overlooks before heading into the Canyonlands.
Here we were met with bizarre weather: snow, rain, and crazy winds! We tried to wait it out, which is often the trick to these storms, and the precipitation moved on but the wind stuck around for their ceremony overlooking the Green River below. They powered through the cold winds as they and Beth, their officiant, recited the ceremony they collaborated on. Eve and Jeremy are writers and put a lot of thought and work into making this moment special as they began this new stage of their relationship!
After the ceremony we went back to the trucks where we signed the papers to make it official – the park ranger who oversaw their ceremony even helped out by witnessing! This is a great part of getting married in the national parks here – you have a built in witness in me and the rangers, so we don’t have to rely on hikers passing by as often.
