Megan & Chris’ Crested Butte elopement was really more of a “micro wedding.” They gathered at Megan’s parents’ house just outside town with their closest friends and family to celebrate in the 2020 way – an intimate ceremony and private dinner reservations. As I drove up the road to their cabin, I was in awe of the views!
The two tied the knot in a field right nearby the house with the best overlook of the mountains and valley below. To be surrounded by this area they love so much definitely added to the moment! Even in such a bizarre year, these intimate weddings are so special to witness. Everyone is so full of love and joy to be able to celebrate in whatever way they can. I’m really loving the intimacy and connection of these smaller weddings!
Megan and Chris have that quiet connection that I think Megan best summed up when talking about Chris. “I love how well he balances me, but also how silly he can be.”
After the ceremony and photos we gathered back at the cabin for some appetizers and a toast to the newlyweds before heading down into town for their dinner reservation. Just before they went into the Wooden Nickel we captured a couple portraits on Elk Ave. as the sunset on Mt. Crested Butte so beautifully. All the people eating on the patios formed outside the restaurants along the street began to cheer and clap, and the whole street came alive cheering for Chris and Megan. It was a magical moment to end the evening! Take a peek at some of my favorites from their Crested Butte elopement:
