Sarah & Ryan celebrated their Spring elopement in Grand Junction this March, and spent the day exploring new places that ended up capturing their hearts! The typical springtime winds were no stranger on their big day, but these two embraced every moment and we got some of my favorite shots with her veil flying in the wind (and once literally FLYING! She caught it though – phew!) I first met the two of them at a VRBO tiny home in Palisade – a super cool spot reminiscent of a petting zoo with all kinds of animals around the property. One of the farm dogs even photobombed their first look!
Getting Ready & First Look at their Vacation Rental
After their first look at the rental, we made our way over the Colorado National Monument for some exploring. Ryan used to live here for a few years, but didn’t explore every nook and cranny of the area, so they both got to see new-t0-them spots that they just fell in love with. As a base jumper, Ryan even scared the crap out of me looked over the edge a couple times to take in the wide canyons below.
Elopement Photos on the Colorado National Monument
After exploring the monument we headed to one of my favorite, and underutilized, locations in Grand Junction for some wild photographs on the white rocks. They were such troopers climbing around the rocks and between the narrow cracks! They popped some bubbly and celebrated their new “officially married” status. Sarah even got the cutest heart-shaped shades for some fun photos around the area.
Elopement Dinner at Handlebar Tap House
After that we caravanned over to the Handlebar Tap House for their celebration dinner, drinks and cake cutting. Ryan hollered and cheered as they entered, and the crowd matched his energy right back, it was awesome! The cake was incredible and this Grand Junction spot was the perfect way to end their elopement night.
